4-MAR

4-MAR or 4-methylaminorex (and sometimes 4-MAX or U4Euh) is a stimulant drug with effects similar to methamphetamine, though much longer in duration, up to 10-16 hours. In animal studies it also was shown to be comparable to cocaine, amphetamine, showing significant liability for abuse.

Low: 5-10mg

Insufflated (snorted) doses:
Low: 5-10mg

Ways of Administration


4-MAR can be taken orally, smoked, insufflated, or injected.
If smoked, effects begin to emerge within minutes and peak in about 1 hour. If taken orally, the onset is much longer (1-2 hours) depending on its form (salt or base).

The Dangers of 4-MAR


4-MAR is a very potent and long lasting stimulant. It likely induces severe strain on the cardiovascular system. However, three studies have been conducted to investigate the potential for 4-MAR to be neurotoxic, and none found conclusive evidence. Therefore in this respect 4-MAR may be safer than methamphetamine, which is a known neurotoxin.
However, due to its long half-life, sleep deprivation is likely to occur in users of the drugs, which may lead to psychosis.

Forms of 4-MAR


4-MAR can be present in its salt (HCl) or base forms. Like methamphetamine or cocaine, it is water soluble in the former and can be injected or snorted. In its salt (Hcl) form, it can be vaporized in a glass pipe similar to what would be used for vaporize methamphetamine.

However, it appears that only the cis- isomer is controlled, and the trans- isomer is excluded but falls under the analog laws (c.f. William Hahne's case - http://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/v04/n1733/a07.html)
However, PPA (phenylpropanolamine,) the main precursor used in the synthesis of trans-4-methylaminorex is controlled under the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005.
